Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is looking for a Staff Aerodynamics Engineer. This role is located on-site in Melbourne, FL.
Essential Functions:
- Experience in design, analysis, and testing of aircraft shapes to optimize performance, stability, and fuel efficiency while managing lift and drag forces.
- Experience in specialized software to simulate air behavior around the aircraft to optimize drag reduction and lift.
- Calculate and document aircraft performance metrics, such as fuel efficiency and speed capability.
- Plan, execute, and analyze tests on models and prototypes to validate CFD results.
- You may be required to attend or present at internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
Basic Qualifications:
- For Level 5: Must have a Bachelor's in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 14 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment.
- Active In-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Active In-Scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Supplier Management Team (SMT) experience.
- Experience working with diverse technical teams and leading others.
- Knowledge of design, analysis and/or engineering tools development
- Proficient with typical office toolsets such as Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient at locating and examining technical data from Computer Aided Design
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current active DoD Top Secret clearance (with background investigation completed within the last 5 years or under continuous evaluation)
- Experience applying Siemens AMESIM, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar analysis tools.
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience writing/reviewing technical documents: CDRLS, SSOWs, SRDs, ICDs, SDRL reviews, etc.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex technical solutions, within cost and schedule constraints, across the various phases of the engineering lifecycle.
Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
