Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and manage a critical area of Melbourne production. This role is critical to ensuring seamless operations daily, maintaining productivity, quality standards, and achieving business objectives. This Operations Manager will lead a team of operations supervisors, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety, compliance, driving throughput and operational excellence initiatives.

What You Will Do:

• Manage and supervise all operational activities during the week, ensuring all shifts meet production and efficiency targets.
• Provide direction, guidance, and support to the team to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of employees, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Conduct shift meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and any updates.
• Address and resolve employee concerns or challenges promptly and effectively.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction.
• Responsible for Area output ensuring we meet all goals monthly
• Collaborate with other managers to ensure continuity between all shifts
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure the team adheres to all company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Identify and address any operational challenges to meet production goals.
• Implement lean principles to ensure everyone knows if we are winning or losing
• Coordinate staffing levels to align with workload demands.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in operations management or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems or production management tools.

• The ability to remain focused under pressure to assess and resolve challenges.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
