At Jacobs, we’re not just building projects, we’re helping our clients innovate and grow by designing, engineering, and delivering infrastructure that shapes communities and supports global commerce. Our work goes beyond the skyline, strengthening coastlines, enhancing resilience, and preparing our world for tomorrow’s challenges. With a growing portfolio of transformative marine infrastructure, waterfront development, and climate resilience projects, we’re looking for a Ports & Maritime Project Manager to help us deliver projects that make a lasting impact.

As a Project Manager within our Ports & Maritime team, you'll lead and contribute to a diverse range of marine and waterfront infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction. Whether you're an experienced project manager looking to expand your leadership responsibilities or a seasoned professional seeking opportunities to lead larger, more complex programs, you'll find meaningful opportunities to grow your career while working alongside industry-leading professionals.

Based in Florida with hybrid flexibility, this role offers the chance to partner with a world-class team of engineers, planners, scientists, architects, and technical specialists on projects ranging from local waterfront improvements and resiliency initiatives to major port expansions and nationally significant maritime infrastructure programs.

You'll have the opportunity to influence project strategy, contribute to business growth, mentor emerging professionals, and play a key role in shaping the future of our Ports & Maritime practice throughout Florida and the Southeast.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Jacobs' regional and global network to develop innovative solutions for complex infrastructure challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support project pursuits, strategic growth initiatives, and business development activities within the Ports & Maritime market.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects that enhance port operations, strengthen coastal communities, and improve long-term resilience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or related engineering field
  • Minimum 7 years in consulting with at least 3 years of project or task management experience
  • Experience with the design and design management of waterfront project design
  • Strong grasp of contract documents, technical specifications, and client deliverables
  • Substantial experience in the preparation of technical and cost proposals to deliver winning proposals
  • Good communication skills and ability to interface with clients and stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Florida preferred) or PMP certification

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing complex ports, marine, waterfront, and maritime infrastructure projects, including oversight of multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated experience serving as Project Manager or Project Director for complex maritime projects including container terminals, port expansions, wharves, bulkheads, piers, dredging, cargo facilities, waterfront redevelopment, navigation improvements, and intermodal infrastructure
  • Master’s degree in engineering or relevant discipline
  • Experience with cost estimating and construction-phase services
  • Existing client relationships with port authorities and/or other organizations involved in the development of waterfront or coastal resilience projects
