Position Summary:

This role will require the support of both Production and Launch AI&T activities simultaneously. This role will be responsible for the processes and ground support equipment in support of production and launch AI&T activities. Additionally, this role will include support for launch campaigns at customer and launch sites. Collaboration across multiple disciplines, teams, and customer representatives will be prevalent in this role.

Position Responsibilities:

Launch AIT Support:

  • Manage and assist in the development and validation of GSE and processes in support of launch campaign.
  • Support the development of launch integration CONOPS.
  • Provide GSE training to launch technicians and engineers, as needed to support the mission requirements.
  • Report and investigate non-conformances identified during integration and test activities.
  • Travel and lead the hands-on launch prep and campaign activities up to 25% of the year.
  • Other activities as required in a dynamic mission environment.

Production Support:

  • Own key processes and contribute to the overall processes in support of the A450 platform production.
  • Support the effort to monitor process performance ensuring key data capture.
  • Support non-conformance troubleshooting and RCCA efforts for production ensuring lessons learned are fully utilized to improve process, product, and tools.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and production ensuring all inputs are captured and accounted for in the manufacturing process. Ensure manufacturing readiness assessments are thoroughly conducted.
  • Advocate and lead efforts aimed to improve and mature engineering processes fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Propose and implement data driven solutions and process improvements directed at enhancing production performance and maximum Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Participate in the strategy and execution of process development and improvement ensuring integration of mechanical flight hardware aligns with design specifications and production capacity requirements.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Math) or related scientific areas or combination of education and experience. Relevant experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis in lieu of formal education.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 1 years of experience with a master's degree in satellite integration and test (I&T) engineering and/or related domains. In lieu of degree, a minimum of 6 years' experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of two years of experience with GSE highly desired.
  • Manufacturing experience highly desirable.
  • Experience with satellite propulsion systems and testing processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure pneumatic systems, safety, and testing a plus.
  • Experience with Satellite AI&T and Satellite Command and Control is a plus.
  • Experience working with satellite systems, starting from conceptual designs and tradeoffs through detailed design, development, manufacture, integration, test, launch, and early orbit operations.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in leading technical projects and initiatives, with a focus on innovation and technical excellence.
  • Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD), preferably with SolidWorks.
  • In-depth knowledge of spacecraft/satellites manufacturing and launch AIT processes as well as quality management systems, with familiarity with SAP and other supervision systems considered a plus.
  • Exceptional engineering skills, capable of understanding and solving complex design and manufacturing challenges. Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and RCCA processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process design, lean manufacturing, AS9100 and production optimization in high-reliability environments.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively in a dynamic environment.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Proficient in communication, able to articulate complex technical issues clearly and effectively across different organizational levels and cultures.

Eligibility:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Clearance:

  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain U.S. government secret level security clearance.
