GBRS Range Systems Section Manager
Amentum is seeking a Range Systems Section Manager, Ground Based Range Safety to support the Space Force Range contract.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and direct personnel responsible for supervising, operating and maintaining Range Safety and Data Handling Systems and Command Destruct Systems which combined comprise Ground Based Range Safety (GBRS)
Manage personnel in compliance with Amentum and Human Resources policies and procedures, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union (IBEW) Collective Bargaining Agreements and provide coaching and mentoring to personnel as needed
Responsible for hiring, scheduling and managing staff to include: recruitment, work assignments, training, employee vacations, overtime assignments and shift rotations
Assist employees with problem resolution, seek interpretation of company policies as required, hold site safety meetings, and enforce safety & security regulations
Ensure mission equipment is properly maintained in accordance with the Integrated Organizational and Depot Maintenance Plan (IODMP)
Ensure preventive maintenance procedures, schedule and records are accurate and completed according to schedule
Ensure adequate operational spares, supplies and consumables are on hand to support O&M tasks and objectives
Oversee training to ensure qualified personnel are available to support scheduled operations in accordance with the Operations and Maintenance Qualification and Proficiency (OMQP) Program
Acquire and maintain operational contingency qualifications on GBRS systems
Oversee the setup and operation of mission equipment to ensure all requirements are satisfied according to mission documentation
Monitor system performance during operations and ensure status reporting is accomplished in accordance with LISC Operating Instruction (LOI) for Reporting Range System Status During Launch Operations and Mission Rehearsals and daily status reporting to Communications Mission Control (MCC)
Facilitate expeditious resolution of anomalies that occur during launch operations
Continually assess system capability with regard to emerging customer requirements and develop Requirement Statements when necessary to ensure future mission success
Perform inventories and internal audits on Government Property
Perform internal quality audits
Promote safety in the work environment as a priority for all job related duties
Work in coordination with the applicable collective bargaining agreement(s) and personnel
Prepare and provide progress, status reports, and briefings as required or requested, to inform management of anticipated performance problems, issues, improvement initiatives, as well as recognizing personnel through the Amentum Recognition Program
Participate in engineering project design reviews, integration and acceptance testing to help ensure timelines and quality product delivery are met
Responsible for meeting department productivity and quality goals
Assist in the preparation of mission cost estimates and variance analysis when necessary
Participate in quality reviews for mission planning documentation
Vigorously pursue initiatives to improve the quality, efficiencies, and timeliness of Section and LISC enterprise solutions, products or services
Innovative process improvements ensuring contract compliance and fulfillment while devising and implementing process improvement methods derived from internal and external integrated process team actions
Develop and integrate contract enterprise Integrated Process Team (IPT) concepts and recommendations to capitalize on Cross Range best practices, efficiencies and standardization
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
Eight or more years of equivalent Range Systems or Operations experience, including four years of management or supervisory experience showing increased scope of responsibility
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures
Eastern Range operations and maintenance experience, preferred
Experience managing or supervising union personnel, preferred
Experience with Eastern Range project integration, preferred
DoD 8570 IA certification, preferred
Possess leadership and supervisory skills that demonstrate, or indicate a high potential for successful direction of work centers
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel in a courteous and professional manner
Ability to work well in fast paced and stressful environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Exhibits strong conflict management skills
Ability to exercise diplomacy within a team environment

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
Ability to travel locally on occasion
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
