Description:
The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program within SSC provides all the launch processing support functions for the Office of Space Launch (OSL). One of the program’s two primary operating locations is Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, clean room operations, satellite processing and support facilities O&M, and safety and environmental services.
Basic Qualifications:
The Electrical Technician shall be Journeyman certification/apprenticeship, experience with industrial machinery, and strict adherence to NFPA 70E/NEC safety standards.
- The Electrical Technician experience installation, maintaining and repairs on 3-phase switchgear, motor starters, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), VFDs (variable frequency drives), Pumps, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), 480V/277V-208V/120V Distribution Panels, Lightning, Generators, and related electrical wiring systems.
- Test/Troubleshoots circuits and equipment by use of voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter.
- Electrical circuits include voltage up to 600 volts, 3-phase current.
- Ability to install both Rigid Steel conduit (RSC) and Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) to include but not limited to measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembly.
- Ability to lift 45lbs.
- Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
- Ability to obtain a Class A CDL Driver’s License. Familiar with Microsoft Office software bundle, Power Point and Project.
- Strong attention to detail for part inspection and compliance verification.
- Strong communication skills—both written (reports, logs) and verbal.
- Candidates should also be willing to perform other jobs as assigned.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to perform maintenance services, diagnose systems or equipment malfunctions, and complete repairs when required.
- Ability to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings; and must be skilled in the use of a wide variety of test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter.
- Understanding of safety protocols for handling high voltage, hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of how to replace all types of receptacles.
- Re-lamping light fixtures and replacing bulbs.
- High voltage experience up 13.2 volts 3 phase
- Experience with Emergency Standby Power and transfer switches.
- Experience with uninterrupted power supplies.
- Work with Motor Control Center (MCC)
- Progress a Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
- Bucket truck experience, CDL license Driver.
- Maintenance the Lightning Protection System in all NRO/OSL facilities.
- Ability and willingness to perform some travel (up to 10%).
- Be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/Poly.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
